Young Change Maker Scholarship Essay Writing Competition
Rise Against Hate is proud to announce our inaugural Young Change Maker Scholarship Essay Writing Competition. This competition aims to empower and inspire students aged 13-17 to become active agents of change in their communities, by challenging them to reflect on the societal issues of hate, discrimination, and prejudice.
We invite all eligible students to submit a thought-provoking and creative essay that addresses the following question:
"How can young individuals like yourself contribute to the fight against hate and promote unity within your community?"
To participate in the competition, follow these guidelines:
Entrants must be students aged 13-17 at the time of submission.
Essays must be written in English and be no more than 500 words in length.
Essays should be typed and double-spaced, using a legible font such as Times New Roman or Arial, size 12.
Each essay must be the original work of the student submitting it.
Only one essay per student may be submitted.
Submissions must include the entrant's full name, age, and contact information (email address and phone number) at the top of the first page.
Submission Deadline: April 30, 2023. We reserve the right to close the competition early.
Work is judged based on creativity, originality, and overall impact. We encourage students to share their unique perspectives, personal experiences, and innovative ideas in addressing the prompt.
Prizes:
1st Place: $1,500 Scholarship
2nd Place: $100 Award
3rd Place: $50 Award
The winning essays will also be featured on the Rise Against Hate website and social media platforms, showcasing the incredible ideas and talents of our young change makers.
To submit your essay, please email it as a Word or PDF attachment to Scholarship@RiseAgainstHate.org with the subject line "Young Change Maker Scholarship Submission."
By participating in this competition, entrants grant Rise Against Hate the right to publish, distribute, and otherwise use their essays, as well as their names, photographs, and biographical information, for promotional purposes.
